Nollywood Actress fights producer in public for sleeping with her and refusing to give her a role.

Many would have thought that the era of sex for movie roles was a thing of the past in Nollywood, but alas! it still seems to be a menace and it is raring its ugly head again.
Wingrassnews gathered from an industry source, who claimed to have witnessed this showdown in Enugu last week, one Arsenal Bruno, who is known to be a top movie producer in the eastern part of Nigeria, got more than what he asked for from an Abuja-based budding actress.
We were reliably informed that Bruno, who is on a movie set as the executive producer, got the worst embarrassment of his life when this actress (names withheld) started shouting that she has been slept with severally by Bruno with the promise to get juicy movie roles in his new film, but that she was now surprised that the promise was not being fulfilled.
This incident happened on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Prince Palace Hotel, Ukporkiti, Enugu. The actress was quoted to have said, “I am tired and no longer ashamed of saying it. You have been f**king me all this while and wasting my time. I am no longer acting again.”
Wingrassnews learnt that all efforts to calm this actress down proved abortive as she went ahead to rain curse on Bruno. The movie set this incident happened has some A-list stars on parade.

SECURITY THREAT: Jonathan inaugurates 176 Special Forces to boost security

Sources confirmed that the threat on the life of Mr president has increase since last month, the presidency is worried and had to hold the independence ceremony inside the villa. President Goodluck Jonathan had to  inaugurate a newly formed 176 Special Forces Battalion, adding to the existing 177 and 7 battalions of the presidential guards brigade.
The guards brigade is a special unit of the military specifically charged with the responsibility of the security of the president and the seat of government.
The Minister of State for Defence, Erelu Olusola Obada, explained that the newly established battalion was to strengthen the guards brigade and to make it more effective in response to security challenges in and around the Federal Capital Territory.
Obada said the ceremonial presentation of colours to the battalion was symbolic and could only be done by the President and the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.
Speaking in the same vein, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, said the ceremony was special and grand in marking the independence of a nation.
Abati said the 52nd independence anniversary like that of 2011, was low-keyed to save costs and adequately  prepare for the big event of 2014, when the nation would mark 100 years of existence from the amalgamation of 1914.
He debunked the claim that the event was moved to the villa for security reasons.
“The anniversary is also low-keyed this year taking place within the precincts of the State House.
“President Jonathan has personally responded to the allegation that the event is being held within the State House by making it clear that in 2014, we will have a big event; the centenary of Nigeria since amalgamation.
“Few years ago, we have the 50th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence and that was a big event.
“The President’s take on this is that between that 50-year anniversary and the centenary of Nigeria’s amalgamation, we should have low-keyed celebrations.
“Those who are looking for celebration on a grand scale should wait till 2014 when we will have the 100 years of Nigeria’s amalgamation,” he said.
NAN reports that Monday’s celebration was marked with a ceremonial change of guards by the outgoing and incoming quarter guards and guards brigade.
There were also parade and military display Brigade of Guards, inspection of fitness and weapons, a symbolic colour-parade as well as band parade in different military tones and melodies.
NAN reports that the president, assisted by the Service Chiefs and heads of other para-military agencies, released  pigeons, signifying the unfettered peace and harmony of the nation.
The president also signed the anniversary register and cut the cake decked in national colours.
The event was witnessed by Vice-President Namadi Sambo, Senate President David Mark; his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu; and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha.
The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloma Mukhtar, led other justices and heads of court to the event.
Also in attendance were former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd.); ministers, presidential aides, members of the diplomatic corps, the business community, representatives of religious leaders and traditional rulers.

Sources Confirm that Ihejirika may emerge next Chief of Defence Staff

Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika
INCUMBENT Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, may become Nigeria’s next Chief of Defence Staff.
If appointed, Ihejirika would be making another history  as the first Chief of Defence Staff from the South -East. He is the first from the zone to be made the Chief of Army Staff in 2010.
Investigations revealed that the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Oluseyi Petinrin, who has put in 35 years in service, may soon vacate the position.
Besides Ihejirika, the other service chiefs are Vice-Admiral Ola Ibrahim of the Nigerian Navy and Air Marshal Diko Umar of the Air Force.
According to military sources, the new change may be announced on October 4.
Petinrin and the three service chiefs were appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan in September, 2010.
Investigation revealed that Ola, the current Chief of Naval Staff, and Ihejirika  are the two topmost contenders to the highest military position in the country.
Although, the Naval Chief is the most senior of the three service chiefs currently, military sources said Ihejirika had better chances to take over from Pentirin.
The sources were, however,  silent on the odds against the Navy Chief.
It was learnt that the President, in appointing the CDS, is usually guarded by certain factors such as seniority and an unwritten principle of rotation in the Armed Forces.
According to the source, Umar has very slim chances  apart from the fact he is the third in terms of seniority among the service chiefs.
Umar’s chances are further  said to diminish as Pentinrin and the  former CDS, Air Chief Marshal Paul Dike, who handed over to him in 2010, came from the Air Force.
Before Petinrin’s appointment, the expectations were that Dike was going to hand over to a Naval officer but that did not happen.
Between 1999 and 2012, the country has had six Chiefs of  Defence Staff out of which only one is from the Navy.
While the Army has produced three CDS, the Air Force has produced two.
The former Chiefs of Defence Staff are Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi (1999-2003), Gen. Alexander Ogomudia (2003-2006), and Gen. Martin Luther Agwai, June 2006 – May 25, 2007.
Others are Gen. Owoye Azazi (May 25,2007 –Aug 20, 2008), Air Chief Marshal Paul Dike (August 20, 2008-September 8, 2010 and Petinrin, September 8, 2010 – date.

Saudi Arabia deports many more female pilgrims

A statement issued in Abuja on Monday and signed by Malam Uba Mana, the commission’s Head of media, said the development came after the resumption of the transportation of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
According to the statement affected pilgrims were from Kebbi, Kaduna and Niger States.
It said that the air carriers had been directed to return pilgrims without proper documentation.
It further said that NAHCON had successfully transported 3,786 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia since the resumption of the Hajj flight operation on Sunday.
The carriers had operatedeight flights into Saudi Arabia since Sunday, the statement said.
It also said that the success recorded was largely due to the directive to state pilgrims’ welfare boards and agencies, to ensure that only female pilgrims who had the appropriate Mahram (male guardian) were boarded.
The commission, however, appealed to all state Pilgrims Welfare Boards and agencies to comply with the circulars earlier sent to them regarding the marching of female pilgrims with their appropriate Mahram and to ensure that they travelled on the same flight.
The statement said that the commission would continue to deploy its staff at all hajj reception centres together in addition to the support of members of the immigration service and air carriers, to ensure full compliance with all necessary travel requirements.
