CHARACTERISTICS OF A NATURAL MAN

CHARACTERISTICS OF A NATURAL MAN
The characteristics of the natural man are those physical behaviours that are exhibited by those who have not encountered Jesus in their lives.
1. PRIDE: 'As proud as the peacock', so goes the popular saying. This is the true picture of the natural man. He/ she does not even know that pride is his life. This is because Lucifer the father of pride is right at the centre of their heart. 2.LYING: To lie is to make false statement with deceptive intentions. The one who bears a false witness is meant to be punished. The devil has so blinded the eyes of the natural man that he sees nothing wrong with lying. Deut. 19:16-21. Lying is a sin against God and humanity, it is an addiction of telling lies.
3. DISOBEDIENCE: This means refusal to comply with what is heard. The disobedience of one man (Adam) brought sin to all men while the obedience of another man (Jesus) as made many righteous Rom. 5:19. Every act of disobedience attracts punishment and consequences.1 Sam. 15:17-23.
4. IDOLATRY: Idolatry is the worship of false gods, usually through images. Exodus 20:1-5. It is not limited to the worship of gods, love or so much attention or attachment to any material thing is also seen as Idolatry. The natural man believes so much on material things. That man/ woman that believes  so much in fashion, money, children, beauty or any other is an Idolater. 1 Cor. 8:4-11, Acts 15:20, 1 John 5:21.

5. GREED: Greed is an expression of envy, desiring what others have. 1 Tim 6:10, Joshua 7:11. It leads to other sin like strife, Rom. 13:13, Lying,  John 8:44, hatred, 1 John 2:9, anger, Prov. 10:12, etc.
