THE SPIRITUAL MIND

The spiritual mind in other words is the mind of Christ. It is the mind that has been renewed by the spirit of God through the word of God. This mind is set on things above or God’s kingdom. It never opposes what God says, teaches or reveals in His word through His chosen vessels. The intelligence of this mind is the wisdom from above which is regarded as foolishness by the secular, cultured, religious, carnal, corrupt, hardened, blind and reprobate minds.

The spiritual mind is that which has the capacity of loving God with all that is in the soul (the will and the emotion). The mind, as intelligent faculty is meant to be the guiding force of the will-the choice or decision making faculty; and the emotion-the feeling, affection or desire faculty, to become subjected to the will and love of God. It is the mind that has the capacity of bearing fruit of the spirit. It also is the mind that God put his laws and whose loin is girded with soberness and hope. It posses the knowledge and wisdom of the mysteries of God’s kingdom. The reward of the spiritual mind is life and peace. There are so many born-again Christians who live with secular, cultured, religious, carnal, hardened, corrupt, blinded minds. And you can wonder how many of these so called Christians have crossed the point of no return to a reprobate mind. Even preachers and teachers who stand behind the pulpit are not spared from these catastrophes.  The biblical proverb is still very true; like the priest, like the people. It takes the preacher or teacher with the mind of Christ to reproduce people with the same mind.  The church of Jesus Christ is built upon the Rock or foundation of the revelation of His person, divinity, and work. It is only the spiritual mind that is capable of receiving and embracing such revelations as they come through God’s chosen vessels. The human mind is so important that the heart and entire life of the believer cannot be transformed until it is renewed by the mind. This is because the mind is the interpreter of what other faculties like hearing, sight, taste, touch and smell can receive and perceive. The interpretations we receive from day to day experiences depends on the state of the mind.
