This
is the resolve to give the true God His rightful place in the worship and life
of His covenant people. This is what the emergence of Elijah and his ministry
accomplished among the backslidden and apostate nation of Israel.
Elijah
is also known for his fearless confrontation with Ahab. King Ahab when he saw
Elijah after three and half years of drought and famine, accused him of being
the troubler of Israel, but Elijah quickly answered that it was he, Ahab and
his father's house that were the troublers of the land of Israel, by abandoning
the Lord's command and following after Baal.
Our
churches today need men and women like Elijah who will confront kings and
leaders of our time with the truth of the true situation troubling the people
of God so that our churches can see the light of revival again. We need preachers
and teachers who will fearlessly speak the truth about the word of God, knowing
that the God they represent is a respecter of no man except those that fear Him
in spirit and in truth- Acts. 10:35.
Sometimes,
leadership may want to transfer the problems they caused on the followership;
like Ahab who shifted the blame to Elijah as being the cause and troubler of
Israel.
God's
fearless revivalists must find out the leaders and families that are troubling
the churches of our time and confront them with the message of restoration and
healing so that God's anger against His people will be appeased.
