ENEMIES OF FAVOUR

2 SAMUEL 9: 1-7

1 Now David said, “Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”
2 And there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba. So when they had called him to David, the king said to him, “Are you Ziba?” He said, “At your service!”
3 Then the king said, “Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of God?” And Ziba said to the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan who is lame in his feet.”
4 So the king said to him, “Where is he?”And Ziba said to the king, “Indeed he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar.”
5 Then King David sent and brought him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar.
6 Now when Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face and prostrated himself. Then David said, “Mephibosheth?” And he answered, “Here is your servant!”
7 So David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.”

MEMORY VERSE:
“And the king said is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath a son, which is lame on his feet”. (2 Sam. 9:3)

   At first look, one may think that Ziba was just trying to describe the physical condition of Mephibosheth to King David. However, the terrible conspiracy in 2 Samuel 16:1-4 shows that he had an ulterior motive. It was a standing order that the lame and the blind will not come into Zion the capital city of King David. Ziba’s report of Mephibosheth being lame was an indirect way of saying to king David, yes, Jonathan has a son, but he is not qualified to come into your presence.

There are enemies of favour all around you. They want to use your past, your background, your physical condition and other negative factors to block the flow of God’s goodness towards you. I prophesy to you today, enemies of favour shall not succeed against you in Jesus name.

There is already a voice of covenant speaking for your life and destiny. By the power of the voice of covenant of mercy and divine acceptance, I shut up every voice of the enemies of favour working against you in Jesus name. Until now, Mephibosheth (exterminator of shame), a prince; the very son of Jonathan, David’s covenant friend, had been living in Lodebah (place of no pasture, dryness and nothingness). Favour located him but Ziba raised a voice of negative evidence to stop him. Today, I speak by the unction of heaven, every Ziba in your destiny shall be disgraced permanently in Jesus name. Amen.    

TURNING POINT:
By the power of the voice of covenant of mercy and divine acceptance, I shut up every voice of the enemies of favour working against you in Jesus name.

PRAYER:
Lord, let the voice of Your grace and favour counter every voice of negative evidence in my life in Jesus name. Amen.
